Buenos Aires - Mendoza - Santiago

After real pain-in-the-ass flights (Frankfurt-BA took 14 hours, gnnh) we hit Buenos Aires in the middle of the night. No worries though, theres a 24-hour parrilla joint just at the next corner. First bife de lomo arrives to our table about 1 hour after we arrive to the country.

From BA we'd grab a nightbus to Mendoza for some winery touring and general chilling out where its warm and prices are low. And then over the andes we go, all the way to Santiago where we'd start the lake district trip the next day.

Arrival - cervaza & bife de lomo ok
BA house of congress
Pretty cool old subway cars of BA, red line iirc
Crane-turned-tourist-info at the BA marina.
The famous Recoleta cemetary
Grave of Eva "Evita" Peron and her family
Browsing stuff at the San Telmo Sunday market
The Casa Rosada on whose balcony Evita gave her famous speech
Super-comfy seats on the nightbus (14 hours) to Mendoza.
Speed & vodka, hell yes
Installing the fake converses bought from the city
Winery tour
Best part of the tour, wine tasting. Extremely strange to ride a bike in 30C heat after 5+ glasses of wine!
On the bus to Santiago across the Andes.
At the Argentina-Chile border where they broke my passport. Crossings back to Argentina and Uruguay (and back) were pain afterwards :o
Santiago and a superior hostel with a pool+pool bar :) Life's good.
This dude from a minibus transport company called Pachamama By Bus held a slideshow of places to visit in Chile (on their bus trip). We were quite impressed, so we booked the trip to the Lake District and would leave the next morning at 9. So much for actually seeing Santiago..
