Soviet nuclear base, 254 KB
On the way from Palagna to Saaremaa we visited this former secret Soviet nuclear missile base. It contains four silos and they had eight missiles ready for launching at all times. You could cover most of the Europe from this base. It operated from 1962 to 1978. Worth visiting but prepare yourself with enough time.
Soviet nuclear base, 280 KB
It took us some 1,5-2h to visit the base as you can only go in the base with arrenged excursion. This combined with the long wait at the Latvian-Estonian border made us miss the ferry to Saaremaa :/

Someone had painted this date on the concrete. I could not find out what the date means, it could be the date when the soldiers received information that US and USSR had signed a deal that would result in shutting the base down in 1978.
